    I would like to inquire into whether museums or cultural institutions have a Manager on Duty program and what that looks like in terms of coverage, assignments, responsibilities, etc.

    We used to have a weekly MOD for Sunday where full time staff would rotate weekly. Staff could switch dates or have someone cover, as needed.
    Responsibilities included opening and closing the building, exhibits and cash registers. Our part time focused on the registers, and most MOD's went into their offices to work. There were few that would take it upon themselves to interact with guests.

    Currently, our full time Visitors Services Host serves as MOD on the weekends. If he needs a weekend off, staff will cover.
