    Hi Everyone, 

    I work for a small, non-profit, museum in NYC. We often purchase items for the museum's permanent collection from international organizations. For two recent shipments I had with FedEx and DHL, they required us to pay the MPF (Merchants Processing Fee) at the time of import. My understanding is that museums do not have to pay U.S. import duties on items that are being imported for exhibition purposes but I'm not finding any definitive information on MPF specifically. I'm hoping someone here may know the answer and can point me to specific resources on this.
