Dear Ms Zo??, Thank you so much for reaching out. My name is Sewa Singh and I am working with Gurufateh on this project. The tiles comprise an outdoor functional art installation. Tiles are installed both vertically and horizontally, but no foot traffic. The horizontal tiles are essentially bench tops, for people to sit on, but they actually don't get much use in that way. Each stoneware tile is about 7"x12" and about 3/4" thick. The damage ranges from entire corners being missing to chipped areas that are only 1/4" deep. The the damaged areas on each tile average about 4 square inches by 5 square inches at various depths.?? The challenges are proper filling materials, proper colored materials to reproduce surface designs and sealers if necessary. I am tending towards entire ceramic tile replacements instead of patching/repairing, but this may not be practical. Each tile is unique, created by an artist who has passed away. I agree with Bruce that this should be evaluated by a conservator with a specialization in ceramics. It's possible that the museum could acquire...

This is an important point. The fact that it is out of doors and is continuing to deteriorate due to improper material choices complicates the problem. My first priority is now to arrest the deterioration. Thanks again.
