How can words foster a sense of welcome? Middleton will speak about various ways they have utilized language as a method of active welcoming in museums including the family inclusive language chart, museum style guides, and the concept of reparative interpretation.

AR and VR in Museums: What is the evidence for what they can achieve? with Kate Haley Goldman
Kate Haley Goldman will present the optimal contexts in which AR and VR work best, examine whether there is evidence of achieving learning outcomes, and identify the specific types of outcomes. Lastly, we will discuss emerging issues that museums should consider when contemplating this technology.
