Hello,

Has anyone taken the online Cultural Resource Management Diploma program through the University of Victoria's Continuing Studies? Could you share some of your experiences with the program? Did you feel like it was valuable? I have a good grounding in informal education/interpretation, but I want to expand my skillset and learn more about aspects of the museum field that I have less experience with (exhibit design, collections management, curation).

Cheers,

-Amber

Amber,

It will be interesting to see what others think.

Another possibility to consider might be Northwestern University's 3-class online asynchronous certificate program, which begins again on March 31 (registration closes March 25.) These three courses each cost around $1,300 and you can take one or more per term. A good opportunity for possible career development/career change and access to great readings/media without making a major commitment. Quote from a recent student: "This was my first experience with a fully asynchronous class, and I was shocked how much I enjoyed it. The discussion posts and being required to respond to your fellow classmates truly created a community. Everyone came from such different backgrounds but were all able to come together for this class."
