Hello Everyone,

I am looking for recommendations on appraisers who could assist me with appraising a new collection of Ronald Reagan Movie posters and lobby cards my museum recently received. The collection has 80+ posters and lobby cards, and they are from the late 1930s to the 1960s. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. My museum is the Ronald Reagan Museum - Eureka College, in Eureka, Illinois. Thank you in advance for helping me with this inquiry.

Hi Cassandra,

Whether for insurance coverage or charitable contribution, it is important to use an appraiser who follows the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).  There are no state licensing requirements for art and antique appraisers.  You can find a USPAP compliant appraiser by searching the members of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA), International Society of Appraisers (ISA), or American Society of Appraisers (ASA).

I am an appraiser with both AAA and ISA based out of Detroit, Michigan.  I'd be happy to discuss the project with you and answer any questions you might have about the appraisal process for institutions.

All the best,

Michelle Conliffe
