Hello,
My name is Angela Burgio and I'm the Registrar at the Mott-Warsh Collection in Flint, Michigan. We upgraded from PastPerfect 4 to PastPerfect 5 in May of this year, and we are grappling with a complete reorganization of our image folders that we were not expecting. Previously, to keep track of images we attached to Object records in PastPerfect, we had folders with each accession year (2023, 2024, etc.) and an example file name was 2024.1172.
Now, with the upgrade to PastPerfect 5, our accession year folders were reorganized as new folders (001, 002, etc.) and our file names are automatically changed to only the object ID suffix (1172.) We are already in discussion with PastPerfect support on the reasoning behind this, but I wanted to reach out and see if any other institution has dealt with this situation before, specifically with an upgrade to PastPerfect 5. Please feel free to email me directly at angela@mfo.com
Thank you,
Angela Burgio
