Good morning.
The International Tennis Hall of Fame will be holding its annual Legends Ball event on Saturday, September 9th. The theme is around the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of the Sexes match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. We have a display within our permanent exhibits that focuses on this historic match. We will need to replicate this display in NYC for the one evening of the event (picture of case in our museum below). [Yes as the curator, I really do not want to take our artifacts off display and out of the museum proper for a few days so they can be featured at a gala event, but the decision to do so has been made by higher-ups.]
We are looking for suggestions of companies or other museums that are in the NYC metro area that rent display cases that would be about this size. We will not be able to bring our mounts as they are physically inserted into our casework. So we are thinking that we will have to incorporate full body mannequins for the clothing. We also will need to be able to hang the 2D items within the case. So far, our online searches have resulted in companies that do not have this type of large-scale case.
Any suggestions/references for case rental companies?
