The National Museum of Health and Medicine in Silver Spring, MD has an amazing specimen collection on display, if that's what you are interested in. Modern museum with Victorian-esque jars of appendages and organs dating back ages. The highlight was a display of materials collected from the doctors who operated on Lincoln. The smell of formaldehyde will put off any visitor eventually.

The Pharmacy Museum at the University of Basel was fascinating! I went with family and wasn't that enthusiastic about going but I'm delighted to say I was so wrong.
