We're hoping to find a vendor who can turn some of our old advertising banners into tote bags. If you've worked with anyone you'd recommend, I'd appreciate any suggestions.

You might be able to find someone doing this closer to you, but Sew Lab USA has done similar work for the aquarium here in Baltimore!

Hi Vicki. I love this initiative. Though we haven't worked with them, the LA-based firm Rewilder does this (https://www.rewilder.com/blogs/blog/tagged/collab).

Also if you want to consider making this part of an educational programming initiative, here's another option. Our elementary school had dozens of outdated vinyl banners in storage, so as part of a STEM-focused school event, our PTA sustainability committee led an activity where the kids created planters using cut strips of the vinyl banners. We had QR codes leading to additional information on upcycling and removing materials like this from the waste stream and given our proximity to the ocean, how this waste can impact wildlife and aquatic habitats.
