Hi all,

New to the listserv - I did some searching before I decided to post. 

I am the new(ish) membership coordinator for our Friend's of the Museum group (called Museum Associates). We are a free museum of Art & Archaeology on campus. I'm curious if those of you in similar circumstances could answer some questions for me regarding how you handle "life members" vs. large individual donors.

We have a membership level of $10k that offers many perks - however, when it comes to renewing every year is where I'm stuck. I feel that if they've donated that sum, it affords some sort of "lifetime membership". I would still like them to donate annually, and at our $100 level so they can continue to receive reciprocity benefits through NARM and ROAM. Our current renewal letter needs revamping (along with our website, etc...) and I am struggling with how to recognize their significant contribution, while also asking for an annual membership.  

My board president and museum director suggested I ask others how they handle this type of situation, thus, my query.  I would love to connect with anyone who has a friend's group for help!
