The Curatorial Studies program at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada announces a 5-day Summer Institute in Museum Studies to take place August 11-August 15, 2025. Each day will cover a dedicated topic (including accessibility, repatriation/rematriation, decolonization, participation, and difficult histories), with leading expertise provided by one or more guest contributors. The day will follow a workshop format and will include a lecture, discussion, and guided site visit or tour. A bibliography relevant to the topics covered will be circulated ahead of the Summer Institute. This course will be of benefit to both established museum practitioners and those wanting to break into the field. It will close with a presentation and discussion session led by participants.
