  • 1.  Seeking template for traveling exhibit agreement at small museum

    Hello all, 
    I curated an exhibit at our historic house museum that garnered lots of attention (yay!), and another museum is interested in borrowing it. Does anyone have--or know where I can find--a template for an agreement/contract for this type of thing (for small museums specifically)? I need to move the panels out of my gallery space soon and would love to have them travel and continue to benefit the community as intended, for as long as possible!     Hi, Katherine - SITES at the Smithsonian and the American Library Association both have small exhibition (non-artifact-based) exhibition programs.

    You might take a look at On the Road Again: Developing and Managing Traveling Exhibits (from AAM).   A new edition just came out and is a bit price-y ($37 for a paperback), but it does have checklists and sample forms (I think) on how to "do" a traveling exhibit.    One word of caution, however, tracking traveling exhibits is a pretty intensive job and should not be thought of as an "add-on" to anyone's current responsibilities.
