I am serving as an advisor on a new project on Informal STEM (ISL) Learning Careers and we are looking for a wide range of participants. I'm hoping to include a wide range of voices from across the museum field, especially LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC people. The Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) would like to recruit you to help shape this work.
The project team wants to hear from a wide variety of professionals-working at or seeking employment at a range of institutions, a variety of career stages, and across all job roles. We are committed to including members of traditionally marginalized communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ people.
You might work at a science center, natural history museum, children's museum, zoo, aquarium, park, garden, planetarium, and other similar science-focused organizations. You might also work at a history museum, visitor center, or other cultural institution, where you focus on STEM-related programs and projects. We want to hear from those hoping to work at an ISL organization one day-students in informal education or museum studies programs, previous ISL professionals wanting to return to the field, or those who would like to transition their career to ISL.
If any of this describes you-or even a part of you-we need you to help us shape this project for the future of our field.
