I'm working with a group of community organizers who are looking to develop a new museum in North Carolina and I'm seeking some insights about membership programs.
I have two specific questions that I'd love some insights about:
1) What is the relative number of individual memberships vs. family memberships that your institution sells in a typical year? I would imagine far fewer family membership vs. individual memberships, but I'm hoping to quantify this difference.
2) What is your conversation rate of visitors to memberships? I've seen numbers ranging from 1% for art museums up to 10% for zoos.
Having some benchmarks would help us greatly as we advance the business model.
