  • 1.  Resource for display cases

    Posted 24 days ago
    Hello.
We are a small, soon-to-open non-profit arts organization looking for a reasonable resource to purchase a display table for ephemera, pedestals, and additional items for the space.

Any recommendations that are not ULine?

    Thank you.

    Tamara,

    I would look at Display2Go:

    Or

    SmallCorp:

Hi @Tamara White. I've seen a few options shared in other conversations here I can surface for you.

In this thread recommendations include custom vitrines from Tap Plastics (for bases built in-house), Artifa Cases (museum-quality), Meyvaert Infinity cases, Zone Display Cases, Goppion, and Glasbau-Hahn. I've also seen folks suggest vendors like shopPOPdisplays for pedestals, lighted cases, and acrylic boxes suitable for ephemera. Museum supply stores also offer pedestals and cases, with tips on budget-friendly hardware mods.. I hope that's helpful!

Gaylord and Small Corp are dedicated to the museum world. There are many others. The issue becomes cost with anything ready-made. To save money you could hire a local contractor to build a simple table case. They may or may not be able to arrange the plexiglass top to go with it, but that's easy enough to get done with your local sign builder. If you want to go that route I could send pix of the ones we built for ourselves, you could share that with the builder.

    Good Luck!

    Matt

We use Modern Plastics to custom fabricate shelving and plexi exhibit coverings (they use top-of-the-line crystal clear plexi with no glare!). Highly recommend!
