    This fall semester, OCEAN and Authors Alliance will be co-hosting a full Discussion Series on AI and its implications for authors, artists, scholars, researchers and professionals working in libraries, archives and museums.   

     

    Our Discussion Series will take place over the course of five different dates from October 24th to December 12th. 

     

    Each session is one hour in length on Zoom and will be scheduled at noon eastern. Discussion series learning events are composed of live presentations followed by a substantive question and answer period.

    The session will focus on three copyright issues raised by AI: 1) the legality of accessing and using copyrighted materials as training data, 2) what liability exists for potentially infringing outputs (and who is responsible), and 3) what level of copyright protection is afforded by AI outputs?
