Asking Why?, How? and What? in this Order
Crises should ideally become catalysts for human progress. However, much of the museum sector avoids reflection-let alone action-on truly consequential matters. In today's anxious world, museums should strive to maximize both their effectiveness (i.e. doing the right things) and efficiency (i.e. doing things right) to optimize their purpose, approaches and outcomes. This presentation outlines an orderly approach.
Emlyn Koster, PhD, is an Earth-Human Ecosystem synthesist. Emlyn's start as a geologist equipped him with a long and wide outlook. Formerly at the helm of four relevancy-minded nature and science museums, his honors include the John Cotton Dana Award from the New Jersey Association of Museums and Humanitarian of the Year Award from the American Conference on Diversity.
