Hi Angela,
She might try contacting one of the art shuttle services. I'm not super familiar with the companies that run through Idaho and Alaska. I'm gueesing there would be a hand off at some point. That said, they'd have to have the time to pack 400 objects (no small feit) and theyd have to be in ther aea soon it sounds like.
My reccomendation is to send someone else from the museum to fly out to pack at least. Then either drive them back or hand them off to a shuttle. There's a lot of moving parts to this of course. Not least of which is to get all the right packing material to the location. Some donors will allow you to have boxes, tissue, etc delivered right to thier garage. You'd have to pay extra for "inside delivery" or ask the donor to accept and drag the materials in.
The good news, many freelance art handlers could take this on. We are a hungry bunch and love a challenge. Many folks love big weird jobs like this. Do she have connection sin AK or ID?
Good luck to here,
Matt

Subject: Packing & shipping a private doll collection - ID-->AK
Hello all,I'm looking to help out a colleague who has inherited a large Northern Native American doll collection (~400 items). She is looking to hire someone to pack and ship the collection from Sandpoint, Idaho to Fairbanks, Alaska.
Are there any private collections care specialists in eastern Washington or Northern Idaho who might be able to assist in this activity? If not, maybe there's an art shipper in the Spokane, WA area she might hire?
Thank you for any assistance you can provide. Her timeline is quite short, as her family in Idaho is unable to help her in this matter and she's unable to travel there due to faculty teaching responsibilities.
Best,
Angela
