    I am somewhat familiar with the New York City area, and though I do not know of any museum passes for that region, I wouldn't mind knowing if there were one. Online, there are a number of commercial companies that offer passes to groups of attractions, for a fee. The packages might save you money, but I did not pursue that. Some museums (The Met is one) offer free admission if you present an AAM membership card; keep in mind that AAM does not coordinate that sort of admission policy. Individual institutions create their own policies in that regard.

    Museums in NYC honor the AAM card usually for at least one ticket, if not two.
    I was in the museum studies program at NYU, and we had to go to a different museum every week for the entire semester, and we all had student AAM cards so that we never had to pay for entry. That's a lot of different museums - not just the big ones like MoMA, the Whitney, the Met, or the Guggenheim - and we always gained entry with our AAM card.

    Most museums also will give a ticket if you are a museum worker at another institution. Just ask if they have reciprocity. I worked at the Whitney Museum for years and always did this, and only had a hard time getting tickets at other museums when I was overseas.

    For friends and other non-AAM members, NYC also offers Culture Pass which you can get with a Library Card. It has some limits, but generally a nifty resource. https://www.culturepass.nyc/home
