Our museum in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is redoing one of our galleries and getting in new casework. We have 4 beautiful cherry wood cases that we need to get rid of this summer (preferably this month!), and we'd much rather re-home them than dispose of them. Would any of you be interested in these cases, or know any institutions that might be? We'd provide them free of charge, but ask that you handle the pickup/moving of the cases. Thanks!

The dimensions of the cases are as follows:

    • Medium cases (x2): H 75" x W 55" x D 14.25"
    • Mummy case 1: H 77" x W 76" x D 23.5"
    • Mummy case 2: H 78" x W 81" x D 35"

If you'd like to see them from views other than what my photos show, you can take a look at them using our museum's 3D tour (click on "Floor 4"): Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East Galleries

You can email me at jshevell@fas.harvard.edu or call at (617) 495-5756 if you'd like to discuss this further!

The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago may be interested! Do you have any estimate on what it would take to ship them safely? Our Head of Collections would also like to ask do they lock? How do they open? (From the side panel? From the top? Lift up? etc) Thanks so much for the generous offer.
