Every new museum, from the first spark of an idea to opening day and beyond, encounters unexpected challenges and makes mistakes along the way. At AAM 2025, we're offering our lessons learned and tips on turning "lemons into lemonade" for start-up and more mature museums in a session called: MISTAKES WERE MADE--Turning Lemons into Lemonade at New Museums (Thursday, May 8, 2:30-3:30 PT in Concourse 152).
Whether you're attending the conference or not, we'd love to hear in advance some of your stories of resilience, relevance, sustainability, purpose, and accessibility to inform our discussion in the session and beyond. Help us start the conversation here in the AAM Forum, and we'll share notes to this thread after the meeting as well so the exchange of learnings can continue.
