Simply check in with many of the smallest museums. In their realm, pretty much everyone does everything, and most folks are volunteers.

Subject: Looking for Outside of the Box Volunteer Roles
I'm looking for examples of non-traditional types of volunteer roles that museums are using. By non-traditional, I mean roles that extend beyond the front desk, tours, gardening, or behind-the-scenes assistance in collections.
Some of these roles might look like:
- New ways to engage community groups
- New virtual roles
- Volunteer roles within departments that don't typically engage volunteers, such as: Security, Human Resources, or Executive Level
- Any kind of new role that attracts a broad cross-section of the community
The examples will help a client that wants to expand the volunteer program understand the many options available for volunteer engagement. If you have an example to share, I'd love to learn more.
Warmly, Elisa
