    Dear colleagues,
Does anyone have a recommendation for a data logger that records light levels? I'm looking for something that can go inside an exhibit case and be downloaded without having to open the case and plug in, or something that is transmitted via wi-fi and accessible in real-time. Thanks everyone for your feedback.

    Dear Stephanie,

Both the Conserv https://conserv.io/ loggers and one of the Hobo Onset loggers (MX1104) https://www.onsetcomp.com/products/data-loggers/mx1104/ would meet the description you gave for a datalogger that will measure light levels and can transmit their data. The two systems work differently. The Conserv system transmits via Wi-Fi. The Hobo logger can be a standalone unit and transmit via Bluetooth to any mobile device or it can be hooked up to their Gateway to be part of a larger system and transmit via Wi-Fi.  The Conserv model has software that makes it easy to place your data into context and works with a subscription model. The Onset products are purchased individually. Both companies are very responsive to questions and I would be happy to talk to you further about my experiences with the two products.

    Best,

    Rachael
