Saturday Skill-Builders, the Library of Congress Hosts a Day of Humanities Programming for Families, Students, and Veterans
On Saturday, October 11, 2025, visit the Library of Congress for a day of experiential learning opportunities hosted by Library staff, D.C. humanities institutions, and veteran-focused organizations. Participants will learn how to collect, preserve, and share community voices through two oral history workshops, as well as attend a humanities resource fair focused on local developmental opportunities and resources. The Library of Congress Veterans History Project (VHP) and D.C. Oral History Collaborative will present the two oral history workshops.
October 11, 2025 Schedule:
- Defining Oral History workshop (10AM-12PM), focuses on the essential skills involved in planning and implementing oral history projects. Click here to reserve FREE ticket
- Humanities and Experiential Learning Resource Fair open to the public (12-2PM)
- Planning Oral History Projects workshop (2PM-4PM), guides participants through community project considerations. Click here to reserve FREE ticket
The workshops are limited to 30 persons and attendees must reserve their no-cost tickets in advance.
In between the workshops, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, there will be a resource fair where the public can learn more about opportunities from the following groups:
