  • 1.  Last Chance to Register for Museums Advocacy Day 2026

    Posted 01-15-2026 05:52 PM

Friday, January 16 is the deadline to register for Museums Advocacy Day 2026 taking place February 23-24 in Arlington, VA and Washington, DC.

Museums Advocacy Day brings the museum ecosystem together in Washington, DC to advocate for museums with a unified message to members of Congress. Museums Advocacy Day is your opportunity to show up for the field. Together with your peers, you'll be building relationships with lawmakers and Congressional staff, raising your museum's visibility, and strengthening your advocacy skills alongside colleagues from across the country.

Let's reaffirm to lawmakers in 2026: Museums are truth tellers--they preserve culture, educate, and empower members of our communities.

    Learn more and Register.

@Brandy Dillingham this looks like such a cool event. Especially getting to talk to lawmakers and their staff. Is there anything folks who can't be there in person can do to to help? Any digital/virtual resources for us to take in, or to help amplify? As I'm new to this space, I didn't know it was happening and I'd love to let other folks know!

Hi Dan- Thank you for your interest in AAM's advocacy efforts.  We will be posting additional resources for those who cannot attend as we get closer to the February event.  In the meantime, I invite you to explore our advocacy resources as well as sign up for our free Advocacy Alerts. Advocacy Alerts are free emails that typically go out once a month, sometimes more frequently if needed.  Alerts include policy updates, advocacy calls to action, and advocacy tips.
