All good wishes for a healthy, healing, productive, and joyous New Year! Please plan to join us for this important session!

Building an Education Outreach Strategy for America's 250th

In this session, Heather Nice, Executive Director of Strategic Projects and Partnerships for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, will share high-level insights from a novel national study to understand the unique needs of today's teachers and discuss how this data, and data from peer institutions, has informed the development of their 2026 education outreach strategy. She will discuss key projects and partnerships, as well as lessons learned, before inviting participants to engage in conversation around 2026 planning.

Heather Nice, PhD, is the Executive Director of Strategic Projects and Partnerships at The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation where she oversees the development of history.org, facilitates external partnerships, and leads a team of digital content creators. She has taught high school World and European history and worked for the National Archives and Records Administration, the University of Alaska Anchorage, and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Her scholarship focuses on the intersections between the museum, education, and history fields, specifically best practices for the instructional use of primary sources and historical disciplinary practice in the K-12 classroom.
