Please join us for the next session of MUSEUMS AND CHANGE on Thursday July 28 at 12:30pm EDT. The session will be focused on collaborations and partnerships, led by Marsha Semmel.

    Partnership Power

Museum-community partnerships  require time, people, money and other resources. They need to withstand staff, leadership, and budgetary shifts. Why, then, invest in these relationships?  In this session, Partnership Power author Marsha Semmel will explore why museums can't afford to be islands in their communities, the potential benefits of partnerships, and some basic principles of successful collaborations, especially relating to power dynamics and equity.

Marsha L. Semmel is an independent consultant working with cultural and educational organizations on leadership development, strategic planning, and partnerships. In 2019, she published Partnership Power: Essential Museum Strategies for Today's Networked World. Marsha has held senior leadership positions with NEH and IMLS and served as  President and CEO posts at Conner Prairie and the Women of the West Museum. She also serves as adjunct faculty in the Bank Street College of Education's graduate program in museum leadership.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
