    Good afternoon!

I am polling colleagues about their current label making practices. We have been producing labels in house, using 3M Positionable Mounting Adhesive to mount the labels onto mat board. However, when we went to reorder the PMA last year, we discovered that 3M had discontinued the product and offered no alternative. In short, we are looking for possible adhesive/mounting alternatives for continuing to produce our labels in house.

Would love to hear about any alternative products, preferably not spray adhesives, or other suggestions.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
Is this about exhibit labels or object labels?

At the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame's Museum Preview Gallery we transitioned to using acrylic holders for our exhibt labelling.  It was an initial on-time expense but after that it is simply a matter of printing new labels on paper then cutting/folding to fit the acrylic holder.  On walls we use flat ones like in the picture with Command strips for mounting and easy removal.  On shelves we use the stand-up types.  They come in so many sizes so it gives us a lot of flexibility

Thank you, Ken; is there a specific brand or website for the acrylic holder you use at the Museum?

Hi Brianna: I use Crescent self-adhesive mounting board for this purpose, which I purchase at Blick or Utrecht.
