Hi Dan,
We had two events several years ago that traded explicitly on the "Night at the Museum" movies, but we've since moved to using the "night at the museum" generic tag line for history-themed evening events run by our supporting non-government foundation that don't reference the films. The most popular is an adults-only 40s swing dance with suitable beverages. People get to learn and watch some really good dancers, wear 40s clothes, and look into selected airplanes. It really is the A Train. :-)

@Douglas Lantry great to meet you! I love the "earth cooled" timeline - I may steal that in my field as well!
How do people react to the night events? I wonder if it's still a popular enough movie series, or if the nostalgia hits just right.
Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hi Dan, and welcome aboard! Three cheers for curiosity. I came to this profession shortly after the Earth cooled, and I've been connected to it via government/military threads the whole time. My background is in museum studies and the history of technology. And I love music too (my car is a 70s bubble so be time-machine prepped if you ever ride with me). As for the museum coming alive at night -- I have been asked that a couple of times, and we've traded on that theme to have "night at the museum" events.
Cheers,
Doug

π I'm Dan, and I'm new to the AAM community. I live near Kalamazoo, Michigan (home to some great museums!) and work in marketing and CRM consulting. But I'm here to learn, and to help, not to sell.
A little about me: I'm a big fan of music and motorcycles. So my two favorite museums would probably focus on those subjects. I'm a blended family dad whose kids are now adults. My personal mission is to put more love into the world and help create a better space for everyone. Curiosity is my superpower.
I'd love to connect with folks and learn about your journeys into museums as a career. And also, how often do people ask you if your museum comes to life at night?
