If you wanted to have some sort of 'historical documentation' of this older numerical system – PastPerfect allows you to capture them in the fields "Other No" and/or "Old No". For you and staff, I would indeed use the standard three-part accession/catalog ID numbering system to start. Retaining some sort of documentation of the numberical shift will be valuable for future you and future users.

    Good luck!
