I worked as a gallery attendant at the Grand Rapids Art Museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for about a year. They provided a stool and a fatigue mat in the main locations where they preferred the gallery attendants. The stools were for when the gallery was empty of guests, and the mats were for when we were up and on our feet. The fatigue mats were a beneficial addition, especially for days when the museum was busy over a long shift.
Your Gallery staff will likely appreciate you advocating for them!

Subject: Do you utiize Standing/Fatigue Mats for In-Gallery Staff?
I am looking for any industry examples of institutions that utilize fatigue mats or something similar for staff who monitor gallery spaces ( Security Guards, Gallery attendants, Gallery Hosts, Docents, etc.) I am currently advocating to provide fatigue mats for my Gallery Host staff who spend 8-12 hours on their feet, monitoring artwork at my institution. Any examples of or insights regarding established utilization of fatigue mats or something similar would be very much appreciated!
