Hello All,
I need advice regarding the deaccessioning of a collection that is going to be repatriated. I work for a small state Government owned museum that has no policies for this event, but everyone is in agreement, though not yet on paper, that this collection must go back. I have already spoken to the consulate of the origin country, and they are ready to receive the collection. I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience as a small government run museum and if you have any advice on going forward? Any policies you can share, or insights you have will be greatly appreciated. I very much want this done correctly.
