    Do any of you carry Cyber Insurance policies because of online donations and membership transactions?
    And if so, which providers offer good cost coverage? If it helps, I’m in Texas.

    At the Paul Revere Memorial Association/Paul Revere House in Boston we just this year started purchasing cyber insurance from Travelers.  We had been looking and finally found a reasonable but still not cheap policy.  Happy to chat off line if that is helpful at nina@paulreverehouse.org.   We discussed the coverage with the accounting firm that does our audit and they thought the premium was fair and the getting coverage was a good idea.

    My interest in jumping in is to caution against the purchase of this coverage based on price alone. Products and coverage vary significantly from third party liability only to more robust coverage for first party cybercrime (social engineering, malware, etc.).
     
    Please compare products with price.  Often here you do get what you pay for.
     
    Cyber insurance is (in my view) important for small organizations to consider for cyber-crime coverage.  Ability to react/at times negotiate is important.  At the end of the day if your organization is locked down because there is an occurrence (and you are unable to access your own computer records, etc.), you will need to have access to a company that is able to respond to have you back in operation quickly.

    There are many insurance companies that specialize in Cyber Insurance. I recommend you request your insurance broker to obtain several quotes so you can compare which one best suit your needs in terms of coverage and pricing.
