The leadership of the CSA Angels Project is looking for a site in the Salt Lake City area (US) for the 2023 Angels Project (being held on May 23, 2023).
As part of their national symposium, the Costume Society of America (CSA) holds a one-day Angels Project service event. In 2023, the symposium will be held in Salt Lake City at the Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel (150 West 500 South).
The CSA Angels Project provides member volunteers to small museum, historic home or other similar organizations (such as tribal cultural centers; civic historic sites; religious sponsored historic sites; academic institutional collections) to improve the site's costume and textile collection during an intensive one-day project. People associated with the site receive basic training in museum standards of care. CSA members participate by providing expertise and additional human resources to document, photograph, clean, label and store artifacts from the site's costume and textile collection. CSA also donates small equipment and supplies worth up to $2,500 to benefit the site's collection. Additional supplies and equipment donations are solicitated from museum supply businesses.
