There is still time to register for the Courier Training Workshop, as part of the pre-session offerings at the 2025 annual American Institute for Conservation's Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, 28 May 2025. This day-long workshop will prepare attendees to successfully work as a contract courier during any stage of the loan process and to follow good courier practices.
The workshop is based on the Courier Training Program Framework, developed by several European registrars groups to promote best practices in the museum and gallery sector. While the workshop includes information targeted towards those working as independent contractors, it is also suitable for any collections care or allied professionals who may serve as couriers. The curriculum provides attendees with a comprehensive manual that includes training presentations, project management worksheets, and checklists appropriate for both early career and more experienced cultural heritage professionals across a range of specialties.
Registration and additional details can be found at Register
If you were not intending to attend the full conference, please note there is a reduced single day (pre-meeting) rate of $50 in addition to the workshop fee of $132. Select "pre-meeting day Wednesday" to add the workshop in a later step of the registration.
