    Greetings Museum Colleagues! Hoping to get information on major storage upgrade projects that have been recently completed, to gain insight on your process, scope, and insights. We are considering a major renovation of existing vault spaces and related work areas as opposed to new building construction. Thanks in advance,

    Hi Rebecca, 

    We were considering doing something similar at my last job in the southeast to our storage space. I wanted to replace our very old pull out art racks with the high density ones. I also wanted to get some Delta design type cabinets and new flat files. Of course this meant we'd need to move the collection out of there. We did not have any place for the collection to go so we were going to house it off site at an art storage company's warehouse, this wasn't terribly far away from our location. 
    I contacted Spacesaver and had them come in to look at our space, hear our needs, and draft a few plans. They will do this at no cost. They also provided us with an estimate. I don't know if they moved forward with any of this, as I ended up moving on to a new job!
