Does your museum ever collaborate with your local or regional planning office? Since planners are responsible for laying out the future vision for climate resilience, housing, transit, green space, historic preservation, economic development, site-specific place making (and more), there are a lot of potential intersections with programs and exhibitions.

I've been collecting and sharing stories about these collaborations - and trying to encourage more of them - in the Planning-Curious Museum Person blog.

I know there are more stories out there - if that includes you and your museum, I would very much appreciate hearing from you about your project. Thank you!

Our museum is actually in our city's Planning & Zoning Department.  There has been growing interest in preserving Mid-Century Modern homes through historic reservation and we are opening up an exhibit on Mid-Century Modern in Venice.

    Thanks for sharing, Harry -

The origin story of your museum is amazing! I may be reaching out with questions in the new year.
