Hi Amanda,
My research may be a bit outdated, but here's what I pulled together way back when:
- SureFire Maximus Headlamp
- Streamlight Stylus Pro UV Penlight
- Convoy S2+ UV Flashlight
- Nitecore TINI UV Keychain Light
- Inova X5 UV Flashlight
- Escolite UV Flashlight
- Black Diamond Spot Headlamp (with UV mode)
- Fenix LD22 UV Flashlight
- Vansky UV Blacklight Flashlight
- Coast G20 Inspection Beam UV Penlight
A few things you're probably already taking into account, but I'll post anyway for everyone out there:
-
UV Wavelength: Look for blacklights that emit a wavelength within the UV-A range (around 365 nm) as this is typically used for art inspection.
-
Portability: Compact and handheld models are ideal for art inspection, allowing you to easily navigate around the artwork.
-
Power Source: Consider whether you prefer battery-operated or rechargeable blacklights based on your usage requirements.
-
Durability: Ensure the blacklight is built with durable materials to withstand regular use without compromising its performance.
-
Brand Reputation: Research reputable brands known for producing reliable art inspection tools.

Subject: Black Light recommendations
Hi all,
We're on the lookout for a new blacklight device for art and artifact inspections. Preferably something compact that we can keep in a kit. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks,
Amanda van Woert
