A conference on Art Rescue is scheduled next year on June 3-4, 2026, at the Palace of Versailles, organized by the Yvelines and Paris Fire Departments.
The idea is to gather curators from major international museums, libraries, art institutions and places of worship as well as representatives of the fire departments that protect them. The conference will be an opportunity for the art and first responder communities to come together and discuss different methods of Art Protection, before, during and after a fire, flood, or earthquake.
The conference will take place in the Palace of Versailles itself and will have different international speakers highlighting past examples of Art Rescue operations such as the fire at the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Los Angeles Wildfires of January 2025 and others. The conference will also focus on how institutions can develop plans in collaboration with first responders to anticipate an emergency and be prepared if it arises.
We are in the process of finalizing the conference, the speakers, and the list of attendees.
