I am with a small-ish art museum and we will be reopening in 2024 after an expansion restoration project. As we look to reopening we are re-evaluating some of our processes and researching systems to manage day to day operations for things such as collection management, guest register, volunteer scheduling, POS, class & event registration etc. While I realize there isn't going to be a one-stop-shop, if we could identify one or two that would do multiple things that would be advantageous so we don't have to have a system for everything.

At the moment, we use Claris/Filemaker for our collections management, and DonorPerfect for our member/donor database. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

    Hi Gina,
I'm wearing my Artwork Archive hat as I reply to this inquiry; I'm also on this liftserv as a career-long museum professional.

Artwork Archive is an art collection management system used by many museums your size. And many of our clients have actually migrated over from Filemaker. We don't have event registration capabilities, but our price point is very affordable and makes it easy for institutions to use us as a collection management system with a public portal and website embed, and then use a donor/event management system like DonorPerfect. You can easily migrate data between the two platforms if you wish – keeping the marketing/development teams in the loop with the curatorial/education teams.

We offer a lifetime 30% discount to nonprofits and work with many wonderful museums that would be happy to chat about their experience with our platform. We also work with Nebraska's Percent for Art program and Omaha's Public Art program too!

    Hi Gina

We work with museums to make their mobile applications and Progressive web app including audio guides. Not only this you can also create online exhibitions and galleries using another product we have, at the click of a button.

The app helps you in various ways to manage your visitor experiences through a robust CMS. You will also be able to list information about events and exhibitions. Reaching out to your audience will become easier with notifications and newsletters that you can send out through the backend. The app can also host collections in the galleries for people to see.

Then you will have a very efficient real time information dashboard that you can use to see the usage of your app and print reports from.  There's much more that we can explain to you in an online demonstration. Our solutions are cloud based SaaS and hence very cost efficient too.

    Hi Gina,

We moved to Veevart https://www.veevart.com/ last year to consolidate fundraising, ticketing & POS under one system. Veevart also has apps for collection management, front desk operations, groups & rentals, membership and accounting, so it's at least possible it could be a one-stop shop for you. I'd be glad to answer questions or chat with you about our experience if you'd like.
