The American Association for Museum Volunteerism is proud to join AL!VE to co-facilitate a new Communities of Practice session for those managing volunteers in museums, galleries, cultural and arts centers. COVID has posed certain challenges and changes for us all so let's rely on each other for ideas and inspiration! This will be a time for networking, sharing ideas, asking questions, and brainstorming with your peers.
This session's topic is Aboard: Volunteer Onboarding and Orientation. In this session, we'll explore what to do-and "knot" to do-to ensure smooth sailing for your institution and new volunteers. Key topics will include identifying the captain and crew, recognizing important flags, and knowing when it's time for "dry dock." Get ready to gain your orientation and onboarding sea legs as we navigate these essential aspects together!
