Advanced NAGPRA in Practice Training Opportunity
Greetings!
Are you an experienced NAGPRA practitioner who sometimes finds the evolving nature, along with the complex interpretations and applications of NAGPRA, eluding your full understanding? If so, this course is for you!
This in-person intensive NAGPRA course provides a small group of NAGPRA practitioners with the opportunity to spend four full days with three of the most experienced NAGPRA practitioners in the country. Instructors Jan Bernstein, Jane Richardson, and Jackie Veninger Robert of Bernstein & Associates NAGPRA Consultants have a combined total of 50 years of experience successfully facilitating the repatriation and disposition of Ancestors and cultural items.
Through lectures, case studies, interactive discussions, and group activities, course participants will deploy a NAGPRA needs assessment, develop a NAGPRA implementation plan, expand NAGPRA resources and contacts, gain skills in relationship building and navigating sensitive or contentious issues, learn to advocate for institutional support, navigate media, and develop successful NAGPRA grant proposals.
Lodging and two meals each day are free with registration. Visit Beloit College's Center for Collections Care website for more information and to register.
We look forward to spending four days with you on Beloit College's beautiful campus in August.
