  • 1.  AAM 2024 Annual Meeting Ground Transportation

    Hello everyone!
    I'm attending the 2024 AAM Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD and was wondering if anyone may have information about the potential availability for ground transportation from the Baltimore Airport to the Baltimore Convention Center and/or the nearby hotels?  I've sent two inquiry emails to annualmeeting@aam-us.org but haven't heard back.
    I'm hoping to avoid renting a car and was wondering if there would be shuttles to help meeting attendees make their way from the airport to the meeting, or if we should plan to use Uber?   
    Thanks everyone, this is my first time attending and I appreciate any guidance from seasoned meeting pros!

    Hi Jessica!

    I'm looking forward to having you and everyone else come visit Baltimore! AAM doesn't generally provide shuttles to and from the airport. Potentially your hotel might, but one of my favorite things to do when visiting a new city is hop on whatever public transit option there is between the airport and downtown. Baltimore's light rail is super convenient, particularly between the airport and convention center. Just hop on the northbound line at the airport towards Penn Station and get off at the Convention Center stop and you'll be there. Plus it's only a whole $2. If you want more info, the airport site has a few details and links to further info if you need it.

    Hi! There is the MARC train - pretty fast from BWI to downtown Baltimore.

    It is the Penn - Washington line.

    Easy taxi ride from the train station to the hotel.

    While there is a MARC train that stops near the hotel (Camden) is a different line.

    For when you return you are going back to BWI you may want to see if people can ride share/give you a ride.

    Hi Teri!
    Thank you for the excellent information and suggestions – all are very helpful and I will definitely check it out!  Someone also suggested I could utilize the light rail which connects directly from the airport to the convention center.  My hotel is just .3mi from the convention center so I plan to walk over from there.  Do you have experience with the light rail?
