  • 1.  9/11 (anniversary) exhibitions

    Hello,

    I saw a post on the forum a few months ago asking if folks are planning to do any interpretation for the upcoming 25yr anniversary of 9/11. I was also wondering this same question. Also, if other institutions have done a temporary exhibit on the subject (9/11 or post-9/11 in theme), I would be interested in this information as well.

    We are planning on doing an oral history and online exhibit about 9/11.  The key thing though is that we will be looking at the impact of the event on our community.  For those that don't know, three of the terrorists lived and trained in our community and President Bush was just up the road from us when it happened. Our focus will be on the community's reaction to being swarmed by the FBI, NSA, the media, etc.

    Hello Jacque,

    The 9/11 Memorial & Museum has had special exhibits relating to the 9/11 attacks. It was the Pro Football Hall of Fame's honor to lend a former NFL player, Pat Tillman's Army Ranger jacket, to the 9/11 Memorial for a special exhibit on how sports were affected and helped the nation heal after 9/11. Pat Tillman felt compelled to give up his promising NFL career after the 9/11 attacks and enlist in the Army. In 2004, Pat lost his life serving his country.

    Also, the Center for the Preservation of Artists' Legacies 2025 Conference ends today and they are reviewing the tools that you are evaluating. You can contact Joy Glidden for their white papers and recordings.
