As part of SEMC's 75th Anniversary Learning Series, this highly interactive virtual program invites you to roll up your sleeves and dive into real-world budgeting challenges-together.
This isn't a sit-back-and-listen session. It's a working session. Participants will actively contribute ideas, share experiences, and crowdsource practical solutions in real time with peers from across the nation. You won't just leave with takeaways. You'll help create them! Come ready to seek solutions and offer them.
Museums across the country have long demonstrated creativity and resilience in the face of limited resources. To kick things off, four professionals from diverse institutions and backgrounds will introduce real scenarios they've navigated-from unexpected budget cuts and stalled grants to staffing shortages. From there, the conversation opens up. Together, presenters and participants will workshop these challenges live by testing ideas, building on each other's insights, and exploring tangible strategies for moving forward. Expect to engage directly with peers as you collectively brainstorm innovative funding approaches, strategic partnerships, earned revenue ideas, and mission-driven decision-making strategies that help institutions adapt and thrive.
Can't attend live but still want in on the ideas? No problem. All registrants will receive the full recording, so you won't miss the solutions generated by the group.
