    Hello!
A reminder that the deadline is approaching for Cycle 8 of CLIR's Recordings at Risk digitization funding opportunity (see below for original post to this forum). Applications should be submitted online by January 29, 2021. We invite anyone interested in the opportunity to review the resources available on the program's Applicant Resources page and send any questions to program staff at recordingsatrisk@clir.org.

CLIR anticipates funding a Cycle 9 of the program, though the timeline is still being determined. We anticipate knowing more in the Spring and will share the information on our website as soon as we have it. If interested in occasional updates from us, we encourage you to sign up for CLIR's Grants and Programs Newsletter.

    Most sincerely,
    Joy

The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) is now accepting applications from collecting institutions for the digital reformatting of audio and audiovisual materials, in its eighth call for the Recordings at Risk grant program. Generously funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Recordings at Risk is focused on digitizing "at-risk" audio and audiovisual materials of high scholarly value.

For the eighth call, CLIR will award grants of between $10,000 and $50,000 for digital reformatting projects between 3 and 12 months carried out between May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022.

All audio and audiovisual formats are eligible, though applicants must partner with a qualified external service provider that can perform technically competent and cost-effective digital reformatting for the nominated format(s).

The application deadline for the eighth call is January 29, 2021.

CLIR will hold an informational webinar for prospective applicants on Wednesday, November 18 at 3:00 pm Eastern time. The application form and other resources can be found at: https://www.clir.org/recordings-at-risk/applicant-resources. A recording of the webinar will also be posted to the Applicant Resources page after the live event.

Questions can be sent to recordingsatrisk@clir.org, and we'll be happy to answer them at the webinar as well.
