    Hello,

We are seeking panelists for an AAM session proposal on museums and programs, exhibits, and collections related to sexual assault.

At the Michigan State University Museum, we are working to document, collect, and create programming related to the horrific sexual abuse committed by a university doctor that has impacted our campus and community. We are currently partnering with mothers and allies of survivors to preserve teal ribbons that were placed around over two hundred campus trees to honor survivors. We are also collecting other types of material culture including banners, signs, and t-shirts. We are partnering with other campus units to document stories and to collect text and media-based materials. We are in the process of facilitating an exploratory process of community curation that will lead to a collaborative exhibit on responses to this crisis.

We are exploring if there are others who have collected or have created programs or exhibits related to sexual assault who might be interested in joining a proposed panel. Please contact worrall@msu.edu if you might be interested.
