Dear colleagues: [indulgence coveted for cross-posting]

Subscribers to Museum Junction may know Greg Stevens, 1st Director, MA Museum Professions Program, Seton Hall University.  I subscribe to his LinkedIn account, so received Greg's recent post headed by the comment, "This helps put the museum field in context" at https://www.linkedin.com/posts/gregstevenspd_whats-wrong-with-the-way-we-work-activity-6756205603686875136-jNjS .

I felt prompted to follow up on Greg's reference to a recent New Yorker article addressing the wider world of work.  My response jumps off from this important article that, inter alia. references the problem of "work to death."

I bring this New Yorker piece into comparative focus & make the case for nation- & even continent-wide research on the Quality of Working Lives in the museum industry.

See my "Call for Research on Museum Worker QWL Issues" post on the Solving Task Saturation for Museum Workers blog at https://solvetasksaturation.wordpress.com/2021/01/27/call-for-research-on-museum-worker-qwl-issues/ .

    Thanks for thinking about this.

    Respectfully yours

    Paul C. Thistle
