  • 1.  Small Scale Fabricators in the DMV Area

    Posted 01-29-2020 10:55 AM
    Hi everyone,

I am the exhibits coordinator for an embassy in DC and we always struggle with our small exhibit builds. The larger fabrication companies in the area are so expensive and we rarely have more than a few thousand dollars for a whole project. Does anyone know of a carpenter or small scale fabricator that can do platforms, pedestals, benches, etc? We had someone for many years, but he recently retired. Thank you in advance!

    Hi Max,
Depending on your needs, Open Works in Baltimore might be a good option. It is a large scale, community-based makerspace, but they also have contracting services:

    Good luck,
